Dive and Snorkel the Coral Wall at La Parguera

Besides its famous bio bay, La Parguera boasts some of Puerto Rico’s finest dive sites. The continental shelf comes closest to shore here, creating a 22-mile coral wall known as “La Pared.” Dive excursions take you to depths where the wall drops from 55 feet to over 1,500 feet, revealing tunnels, steep cliffs and fields of vibrant coral. Look for moray eels, stingrays and even hammerhead sharks. Snorkelers aren’t left out; shallow reefs around Mata de la Gata are ideal for beginners. Clear, current-free water and warm temperatures mean you can explore for hours. Bring an underwater camera to capture schools of tropical fish against an endless blue backdrop.
